"Mecha Princess Celestia" - 13"x19" digital art reproduction

Princess Celestia is an Alicorn pony, the former co-ruler of Equestria alongside her younger sister Princess Luna, and the adoptive aunt of Princess Cadence. In addition to her responsibility of raising the sun, she has also been the teacher of Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer at different periods in time, often addressing Twilight as "my faithful student" while mentoring her. She has a pet phoenix named Philomena.

This work came about from a joint illustration project with my friend and colleague Sara Rude-McCune, which you can watch here. Where we both did versions of Celestia, and then did a wonderful discussion about how we went about creating them, while watching a timelapse of our efforts. I found myself back watching all of the episodes and really thinking about how to put a mecha spin on this character. I really like the end result so very much!
